For those of you who've never seen/noticed it when babies hatch out, here is a look at the egg tooth(teeth.)

This particular baby is one that hatched out a few days (I estimate 3 days) early, and so is in an NICU type enclosure, to keep consistently moist. It has taken to moving around quite fine and has thus far made it past the 24 hour mark, so I am fairly confident it will pull through.

This is also a look into the taboo part of the hobby, that no one ever truly brings to attention. Breeding it not all smiles and sunshine. There will be struggles, and there will be losses. This is the risk you sign up for when you mate ANY pair, be it a single pair or dozens.

This is also a reminder of why it is important to monitor your eggs at least daily. I missed noticing this particular clutch had dried out slightly, so needed to increase moisture levels in the incubation container. Consequently, this particular egg took up too much, and split open.

With some extra TLC, this one should do just fine.
