Nips laid again and this one looks healthy, It's smooth white lil litter in the middle and NO dents or deformations. What should we do?? We didn't even know she was about to lay... get-attachment.jpg Mommy and Daddy watching over so this one doesn't disappear.

You need an incubator if you want to hatch it. She should've laid two, and in the moist hide. I'd make sure she has somewhere to lay, or she could become egg-bound. She will most likely lay more, about every 16days.

If she were egg bound, she'd be sick. If the female cannot lay for some reason, or has no good place to lay, or she can't pass out the egg, they can become very ill. It can be life-threatening.

But sometimes they do lay just one, especially if its their first. If she is with a male, you're gonna get more!! You need to decide if you really, really want to incubate and raise a bunch of hatchlings. If so, look into incubators. Hovabator makes a nice one for around $45. You can make a homemade one, but they can be difficult to maintain steady temps. Be aware of the costs and time investment if you really think you want to go this route. And finding homes for all the babies.

But if you decide not to go this route. Plan to separate your geckos. She'll still lay several more clutches, because females can store the sperm in their bodies and use it for multiple lays. But by next year, you'll want to keep them apart. Geckos are very happy alone. Don't let them fool ya! Plus, your female will probably live longer if you don't breed her. Its hard for them to produce all those eggs.

Do some research, and we're all here if you have any questions!! Good Luck!
