I got a golden gecko over the weekend by accident and he was really bright and hanging out on the glass near the light for the first couple days, but now he's like brownish colored and hiding on the ground. Is something wrong with him? I touched him a little and he didn't move at all (he's alive, he moved to a new spot since then). I was kinda nervous to touch him because the lady I got him from said he's mean, but I think he was just stressed from living with a variety of other species (I've separated them all and he's alone now). He also hasn't eaten yet, but I figured that's because he's still settling in.

So long as you've done all you can to provide its exact living requirements, ie: humidity, lighting, food, space, then there really isn't anything else you can do. Moving is always stressful on animals so just make sure you have your variables consistent and then you know it's out of your hands. If you get too worried, you can always take it to the vet.
