Heating Questions

I hear that belly heat is very important and believe that but I am using heat bulbs right now and my leo is digesting and pooping just fine. I have a warm area with the substrate being 92-96F. She seems very happy. Is it really needed to have UTH's. Heat lamps that warm up the substrate seem just fine to me.

Some people do keep the warm side warm with an overhead light (kind of like the sun, you know?). I think it's fine as long as the light doesn't bother the gecko (some albinos, for instance are bothered by it) and that there isn't too great a heat dropoff at night, especially in the winter.

I think there is a greater latitude for gecko husbandry than is sometimes admitted.
