If they're only a few days old, they often won't eat. They're still living off the good stuff they got when they were in the egg. Crestie hatchlings eat such a small amount that often you won't see anything missing. The rule is if they're pooing, they're eating, and their poos are so tiny they may be hidden in the plants, etc. It might take a week or so before you see any poo.
