Nephrus levis levis take a long time to mature... sometimes up to 6 months before they are sexable. Once they mature, it is VERY obvious when they are males... they have H-U-G-E hemipenile bulges and small spurs on each side.

whoa

just sharing my experiences:
most N. levis complex can be sexed around 3.5-4 months, sometimes earlier by an experienced eye...there are even some very experienced breeders that can make accurate/educated sex guesses just by looking at a hatchling...which is why so many "unsexed" babies turn out male

honestly it's not about age, but growth/size (which is determined by feeding/heat etc)...not a rule, but most geckos are sexable by 20-25% of their "adult size"...ie- leopard gecko adults are 50-60 grams, babies can be sexable by 10-15 grams. N. levis levis adult females are 25-35 grams, although i had a monster 6 or 7 year old 40g female a few years back...so babies are usually sexable by 8-9 grams.
i have some notes from my own collection from the 2002 season (last few years i've been so busy, i haven't kept accurate notes), where i kept track of my N. levis pilbarensis babies. i examined each baby and made a prediction, i was 100% right on each one. to my eye, they were sexable at 4.5-5 grams, which is usually around 3-4 months (adult female size for pilbars is 17-23 grams) which is around 25% of their adult weight.

if there are any doubts, follow marcia's advice and wait until 6 months. by 6 months, any gecko without bulges is 99.99% female (unless it is stunted and isn't growing, which also can happen with the levis complex...genetic flaws due to inbreeding/breeding females too early? but that's another topic haha)
