I was given a leopard gecko that was in bad shape about 2 weeks ago..she was never given any vitamins or calcium with D3 supplements. She obviously has MBD..I got all the shed off her feet and she just shed again and it was much better..although I did have to help her a little..I have calcium with Vit D in a little dish in her tank..3 hides. 1 on the hot side, 1 in the middle that's a humid hide, and one on the cool side. I hsve tried dusting her crickets with vitamins but she will not take them..so I have been adding a little ro her water..I hsve a heat pad but have also been using a day light and night light to keep her tank at the proper heat. Having a issue keeping the humidity up on the hot side..so could use advice with that, i mist and it comes up but doesnt last long. Currently it's only at 20% and 88.5 on the hot side and cool side is 33% and 78.3..she was skinny so I have offered crickets daily (I hand feed her as she has a hard time it seems catching them but she is moving better now) she eats well..got mealworma to try also..as she only ever had crickets.. I am attaching pics of her threw put the last 2 weeks from when I got her..and will attach a Pic of her setup. Any and all advice I would be grateful for. I have had reptiles before but never a Leo. She is a year old or less I would assume. Any advice on how to help her legs or is the damage done? I can't find a vet thst knows enough about them either. The pics are in order of her from the day I got her her feet where like I'm casts..to me getting rhe shed off and seeing her amputated limbs...and the last 2 pics of her are today..and her tank. Thanks inadvance!

Welcome! So far it looks as if you're doing a great job with her. Two things to consider:
--don't worry about the humidity. It's not a great idea to mist the cage. A better idea is to make her a humid hide. The easiest way is to get a Gladware sandwich container, cut a hole in the top and put either moist paper towel or coco fiber inside. Keep whatever you put in there moist. That way she can climb in whenever she needs humidity.
--Obviously she didn't have the supplementation she needed and it's great that you're giving her calcium and vitamin D3 now. Leopard geckos don't need huge amounts of it and believe it or not, if they get too much, they can become over supplemented and end up with symptoms similar to being under supplemented. i recommend you continue to dust her feeders, remove the calcium and D3 from the cage and consider trying something like Repashy Calcium Plus which will give her the calcium, D3 and the vitamins all in one.

Thank you so much for your reply! I will do these things you have suggested! However she will NOT eat her bugs if they are dusted..do I just keep trying?

Do you think she's eating the calcium in the cage? Another thing to try is to dip your finger in water, dip the wet finger in the dusting powder and rub some on her mouth. Hopefully she'll lick it off.

I have seen her lick it once...but I can tell that she gets in it because it makes a mess. But I can't say 100%. I will give that a try. How often does she need to consume it in some form?

They don't need that much. If you were dusting feeders then you would do it every other feeding. If you put a paste on her mouth I wouldn't do it more than once every 1-2 weeks.
