How do i know when to put my female in the lay box?

Would sphagnum moss be an adequate laying box substrate? Should i just leave the lay box in the terrarium and let her go in on her own?

Most Leos like to dig a little bit in their lay box. I use a bit of vermiculite mixed with Eco earth for mine. It's also her humid hide year round.
I would leave it in the terrarium. It gives her an area to be comfortable with before she lays.
