Make sure he's facing away from you.
Lightly touch him, uninvited by, and unknown to, your gecko right between his two front legs, along his back.
Watch in amazement as he takes exception to this indignitude and proceeds to express his displeasure by biting the impudent finger thing that dared to...touch...his royal person in such a common manner.
This approach is a guaranteed irritant and will work every time. Even if you meant no offense, such as in my case...

Glad to know how to get bitten by my gecko! It's hard enough dealing with my cat. I would imagine that eventually he'll habituate to it and just give you that mysterious gecko smile.

My Leo's let me touch them anywhere I please, but you can tell they are annoyed if you touch their lower back or tail, so I don't do it. I don't really see the fun in touching your gecko in a way it doesn't like...
