Hi Hayden,
Obviously the size of your snake would determine what I do. I use a large Country Crock butter container (cleaned and bleached) turned upside down with the lid on. I then cut an appropriately sized hole in the side/middle of the container. It kind of looks like a tree stump with a hole in the middle lol! The container is then filled up to the hole with damp sphagnum moss. I place it in with them when I first start seeing the signs of a shed, And that's it. They seem to like it. And knock on wood no more shed issues. I also use paper for a substrate.:main_thumbsup:
What kind of set up do you have? If you are using an aquarium with a screen top you can cover 3/4 of the top with foil and duct tape. It is a really great way to hold the heat and humidity in.
