As of 3/23/07 GeckoForums.net Administration has decided to close the Business Inquiries and Reports forum indefinitely for the following reasons:
* Similar feedback forums currently exist on other sites and have a greater database of feedback for a wide variety of individuals involved in the reptile trade.
* Feedback forums tend to generate a substantial amount of hostility that we would rather not have on this forum, especially since it is accessible elsewhere on the internet.
* Some members through either their own disregard or negligence have repeatedly failed to follow the GeckoForums.net TOS specific to the Business Inquiries and Reports section.
* The nature of such material regarding business transactions as it relates to the laws of mass communication involves liabilities that GeckoForums.net Administration would prefer to avoid.
The GeckoForums.net Administration understands the importance of reputation feedback in the reptile industry. However, due to the aforementioned reasons, the Business Inquiries and Reports forum has been removed from public access. GeckoForums.net members are still welcome to utilize the trader rating system to leave feedback for other users on the forum.
This also means that posts and threads commenting on any business or individual with regards to their business and reptile husbandry ethics are no longer allowed on GeckoForums.net. This includes complaints about retail pet stores.
GeckoForums.net Administration was aware that the Business Inquiries and Reports forum may or may not be a positive addition to the forums when it was created. After reviewing the situation, we've determined that omitting the Business Inquiries and Reports forum would make GeckoForums.net a more pleasant environment to discuss and share our interests in reptiles.
