I'm going to feed Zeera (leopard gecko) mealworms, I know I need to cover them in calcium powder but what should I feed the mealworms? And how shall I give them water?
If you don't want to breed, you can keep them in the fridge.
Food wise: adult bearded dragon food, bug burger, carrots, collard greens, chicken feed without DE just to name a few.
Water: the water crystals you would give to crickets or roaches.
Calcium and vitamin powder doesn't stick well to the mealworms, I put a pinch in the bowl and swirl them around in the powder. Mine will get a bit when he goes to eat a worm and will sometimes lick the powder from the bowl.
I keep my mealworms on wheat bran or oats which acts as their food. I give carrots for moisture. Never let any vegetables or fruits mold in your mealworm container. It is important to keep your mealworms dry and at a low humidity.
