Monitor lizard?

What is the best type of monitor for a reptile owner who has experience in geckos? I'm guessing a tree monitor, but I need some suggestions.

Through browsing this forum and just reading around i hear that ackies are also good begginer monitors. A smaller monitor, but they need it pretty hot i hear. Just a suggestion. Take time and plenty of research and im sure youll find one good for you. Ive no expierience with monitors though. Blue tongue skinks are pretty cool too if you havent given them any thought. Perhaps someone a more advanced herper than myself can better inform you, good luck

Ackies. Tree monitors are actually quite demanding in their husbandry requirements.
