Over the past month my gecko has had some pretty bad sheds. I took the shed that my gecko is unable to remove off along with the shed on the eyes. Ive noticed there is a mucusy membrane covering the eyes, and it is very hard for me to remove. How can i remove this? What is it? Is there anything I can do besides taking her to a vet?

I hate to say it but it sounds like it is some type of infection. I am not sure if there are any home remedys to take care of this or not, so I think you know what the answer is with out me saying it. I hope that someone can give you a home fix, because I understand how expensive vets can be.

I don't think there is a fix for this, try raising the humidity to help the sheds and go ahead and make an apointment i would say. sorry.

Jasen, your best bet would be an herp vet. Attempting to remove or loosen the skin covering the eyes should only be attempted by a professional, to ensure the animal doesn't lose it's eyesight.
