hey I just got my Leopard Gecko from a reptile swap yesterday and ive got my tank set up with paper towel substrate, a half log, a Parkay butter bucket with a cut out door with extra paper towel that is misted twice a day. i need help with some stuff. I have a thermometer and a humidity gauge. The humidity gauge is a dial, and my thermometer is a stick-on one (there are links of the exact same ones i use/have down below). I have heard from numerous sources that they are horribly inaccurate. If anyone could recomend me a low-priced, accurate humidity gauge and thermometer that would be great. Also, What temperature should their cage be? Ive read it should be almost 90F under the lamp on the hot side of the tank, and in the 80's on the cooler side.

thanks for the help
Jeff

Sounds great just make sure it has a calcium dish, water dish, food and a nesting box for a female also.

i have heard that strip thermometers like that are bad for herps... that they only detect ambient temperature. instead, i have read that a "probe" thermometer is better (one that actually touches the ground).

any thoughts?
