Nephrurus milli

I have just acquired 3 Nephrurus milli, 2 males and 1 female!

What i would like to know is how many eggs do they lay at a time. The person where i got them from had only one egg last year.

Is the incubation the same as for leo's?

Any other tips will be appreciated.

thanks

Hi Paul! Your milii are no longer classified as Nephrurus... they are now Underwoodisaurus milii. They lay two eggs at a time, and they can be incubated the same as Leopard Gecko eggs! I keep mine on a substrate which is 50% Jurassic Sand and 50% peat moss. They require some humidity, so mist the cool side of their enclosure daily. Also, they do not tolerate heat the way a leo does, so keep the warm end of their enclosure between 80-84.

Hope this helps!

When did their classification change? I thought it was originally Underwoodisaurus.

Thanks for the information though. Will keep you updated on the progress.

The name was changed back to Underwoodisaurus in 2001.

The EMBL Reptile Database:
Changes 2001
http://www.embl-heidelberg.de/~uetz/db-info/changes2001.html

Partway down the page you'll see:
B. Name changes (i.e. no entry has been been deleted) including gender changes, corrected misspellings and real name changes:

Gekkonidae Nephrurus milii changed to Underwoodisaurus milii
