New to Bearded dragons

Hello all. My daughter and I have been raising leapord geckos for a couple years now. While in the pet store to buy crickets yesterday I was asked if I wanted a bearded dragon they could not sell. The poor little guy/girl arrived there with only 3 feet. The wound is healed and looks fine, he gets around just fine. How many hours of uvb light should he have per day. I have the diet down pretty good just a question on lighting.

Morning, I have my timers set to come on at 530 am and they fo off at 7 pm.
The heat and uvb come on at the same time.
some people just run them 12 on 12 off.
