Why is my gecko popoing in his water bowl . I have moved it and he still does it ?

He's missing the human toilet. See what happens if you leave 2 water bowls in the cage. Maybe he'll choose one to poop in (and then you can work on the flush mechanism).

It was a joke. A bidet is a toilet that sprays water to clean your behind.

Pooping in the water bowl is common behavior. Some prefer to poop in the feeding dish if one is offered. With that in mind, you could try putting an empty dish in to see what happens. Personally, I find the water dish easier to clean.

I work with several different species. Among them, I find that the African fat tails and the western banded geckos are most prone to defecating in their water bowls.

I have 2 cages of leopard geckos that only like pooping in their hides. I have a special "outhouse" hide for them to poop in.
