Should I or not mark my leopard gecko egg with a sharpie to tell which way is up?

I heard that many people do this, but others say it can harm the developing baby, and i dont want any deformities.

it is ok to put a small mark on the egg with a sharpie. No harm will come to the gecko.

It should not make any deformities unless it is a toxic marker. But they quit making toxic ones so dont worry it will do no harm.

I have put a small x on the top of the eggs and I have been doing this for 3 years now and I've never had any thing happen to the eggs.
