Suggestions on holding your leopard gecko?

How do you hold your leopard gecko? I used to just scoop him up like a crane but ever since me and my family left for a vacation for 1 week (He had a caretaker for that week) , he started acting a bit alert and refuses to go on my hand and I don't want to force him because he keeps slipping out of my hand. What kind of way should I pick him up?

I'd recommend scooping him up from the bottom (putting your hand underneath him) and then making a little cave out of your hand so he can be inside. At first, hold him above the cage so if he makes a run for it he'll end up inside the cage. Some leopard geckos like to be held, or at least tolerate it, and some never do.

Sometimes mine will lick my hand once she got on it. Today she didnt want anything to do with me. Cant blame her, im an old geezer and dont like being bothered either. :)
