Supplementation when off of food?

Hi,

I can't seem to find an answer to this anywhere, but my female leo is ovulating for the first time (and I'm a first time reptile owner) so I'm anxious about her supplement intake. She hasn't been eating for a few weeks and although I keep a dish of plain calcium in her tank, I'm wondering if I need to somehow still give her the multivitamin/d3? Or do they have the excess supplements stored in their body for times like this?

Thanks!

I don't personally worry about it. I leave a bowl of calcium for them and just wait it out. I think as long as they are supplemented properly when they are eating and their food is gutloaded, it shouldn't be a big deal when they go off food. However, if it makes you feel better, you can leave some vitamins in there too. I would provide a dish of a calcium and a separate dish of vitamins. That way she can get as much calcium as she wants without potentially getting too much vitamins.

Thank you :) I'll do that

I don't leave calcium in the enclosure so they don't overdose (that doesn't mean that people who do leave calcium in there are wrong, it's just a different approach). When I have a gecko that hasn't eaten in a while, occasionally I will dip my hand in water, dip it in the supplement and then rub some of the paste onto the gecko's mouth. It will then lick up the supplement.
