Hi

I'm new to keeping geckos
I was wondering this....when measuring the temp do you measure the temperature on top of the substrate? Or is it the actually temp of the heat mat ?

You measure the temp on top of the substrate because you want to know how hot it actually is for the gecko. Keep asking questions; it's the best way to learn.
