Tips of toes are falling off ):

I'm afraid my Leo has a bad case of poor shedding. I have a moist hide where there is wet paper towel on the floor of the hide and all around it, along with those sponges. Once I started noticing the tips of his toes were coming off, I started soaking my Leo in VERY shallow, warm water. Today when he was in his hot side of his habitat, he was screaming and picking at his toes with his mouth. I feel so bad for the little guy, I don't know what I did wrong!

Please help!

Sometimes even though we do everything right, there is retained shed on the toes. I check my leos (and I have about 20 at the moment) every time they shed and often have to remove the shed from toe tips. For best results I soak them in a small amount (up to 1/2" of warm water) and then use my fingernails to pull it off. They don't like it much and sometimes there's a bit of bleeding where the nail meets the skin of the toe. It's not the end of the world.
