I will not be home for a few days because of independence day, and I am trying to figure out what to do. He has a machine that automatically mists his enclosure, but what should I do? How long can they go without food?

They can go quite awhile. Feed the CGD before you go and if your gecko eats crickets or other live feeders, put some extra in the cage. It will be fine.
