Here's baby number 4 for me this season. Just hatched a couple hours ago. A pretty little RAPTOR.

My question is: what is that thing attached to her stomach? I've looked around and found that it's either the yolk sack, or her insides. There doesn't appear to be a hole in her tummy, it's just attached be a little tube to her stomach. What's your opinion?

I put her on damp paper towel. She seems like she's in good shape. Walks around, doesn't appear to be weak or anything. Will she be okay? Will it just fall off on it's own? I would appreciate the help. Thanks.

It's her umbilical cord. Totally normal. It will most likely be gone by tommorow morning, and will fall off on its own. The first baby I ever hatched had one too and I think I nearly wet my pants because I thought it was dying...lol.

Very pretty, beautiful example of a true raptor.
