Worried about my Gecko

Hi
I’m new at this leopard gecko or really any reptile mom life. Anyways I got this gecko from another owner about 2.5 weeks ago. He has settled into his new location and tank since I changed a lot of the stuff he came with.

Anyways the last 3-4days (he, assuming not sure of sex) has been eating 1/3 to 1/2 of what he normally eats. I thought maybe he was going to shed because he was looking kinda dusty and dry on his limbs and tail but I never saw any evidence of a shed.
I’m not exactly sure if there is anything to worry about or to try.
Side note I’ve been feeding him every day usually 10-12 mealworms or occasional dubia roaches. We thought he was skinny when we first got him.
Thanks!

Try feeding him every other day and consider taking him off the sand in case he's ingesting sand with his food and getting impacted. My substrate of preference is ceramic tile but you can also use repti-carpet.
