LOL! We have intelligent furballs too. We had screen clips to hold the front in place; never an issue with the ambient temps. You'll have to do a little trial and error. Good luck - I'm sure you'll find a solution that works for you!

I wish we had pictures, but we don't! Basically we had tanks on their sides, with the screen lids locked on the front. We used 1" rubber spacers (found at home depot) on each 4-corners in between.
