Congratulations! My oldest son was born on Dec 7th.

I had to put to sleep my Boston Terrier, Miss Madison, today. One of the saddest days of my life. She was 13 years old and we had her since she was a small puppy. She was very loved and will be missed. RIP sweet girl.

mealies mostly, crickets once a week or so and Supers once a week. They're young so they still eat daily. Oh, and waxy's on occasion

You can also just buy a rheostat at any pet store. It's basically the same thing but you don't have to cut any cords. Just plug in your heater and the plug the rheostat in the outlet. You start it on low then adjust the knob as you check your floor temps. Pretty easy.

I currently have Zoomed sized for 10-20 gal for my two 20 gal longs. I think they don't cover enough area so I'm going to remove and replace with the next size up since 20 long is more like a 30 gal anyway.

heat? I just installed the ZooMed UTH on my two 20 gal long tanks. I keep our house at 73 now (summer) and in the 60's in the fall/winter. I have a rheostat I had at low but just moved closer to medium. (you have to wait a full 2 hours after you adjust it) I'm wondering how many degrees is...

when he had a big poop last night and he's eating now. Whew! Bought my UTH's and rheostats today and will set it all up tomorrow. Thanks for all the helpful suggestions.

do you use a lamp with it? I just bought UTH's for my tanks that are meant for 10-20 gal. I have two 20 gal longs. I bought day bulbs of 40 watts to use during the day with the UTH's if needed. I also have two 40 watt red bulbs to use for night viewing while feeding but I'll turn those off...

thanks guys. If he poops and eats tonight I'll feel a lot better. I'm just worried that he can't get his temp up enough in his moist hide to properly digest his food . .and poop. I'll feel a lot better when I get the UTH set up this weekend. He now just has the heat lamp.

I do with crickets and mealworms but someone told me you don't with waxworms.
