I didn't really know they were capable of vocalizing. Caillou certainly never has. Is it like the little grunts and croaks leopards do when they're mad at you?
I can usually find bromeliads for under five dollars, and I find them extremely easy to care for. Just keep them spritzed down with water, and if needed, drain the rosette of stagnant water. Additionally, they will generally reward you with beautiful inflorescence.
You can simply wrap the...
I can never get the CGD to stick to feeder insects, though, I definitely did try. Never really thought to dip them in the goop though. I try and gutload the roaches with the CGD and I think that works just fine.
However, I also never had any trouble getting my guy to eat the CGD to begin...
I woke up one morning to find that one of my males, Hammurabi had the exact same thing happen to him.
Hemipenis just chilling on the floor. No prior signs of prolapse.

I intend on using a sufficiently powerful full spectrum plant light, and removing them for their appropriate cooling period. This has naturally limited my choice in orchids.
It's not my first plant rodeo! I actually started with plants, and moved to geckos. I've always...
I'm considering a naturalistic vivarium for my Crested Gecko, Caillou.
I plan on using Nepenthes, Saracenia, an orchid and/or bromeliad. But I think a Venus Fly Trap would also be an interesting choice.
Would anyone be concerned that Caillou would be too slow (mentally or physically) to...
Pick the correct size out with tweezers. They're much hardier than you'd expect.
Tapping them off the egg crate also works. If you get any in there that are too big, just put them back into the colony.
Did a search first, didn't find exactly what I needed, so here's my situation:
There are thousands of little white dots, mites probably, in my dubia container. Admittedly, it's been very moist in there. But roaches like it moist, no?
They seem to visibly move (though it may be my...
Don't use your touch screen phone as your calculator. Sometimes you can accidentally add an extra zero into an equation, and get grossly innacurate estimates as a result. :o
Awesome, good to know. We'll see how mine compares. At approximately what temperature does it take yours a week?
I've been trying to do the math, to see how many beetles I need to keep to breed about as many mealworms as I need to feed.
It really should only be a handful, right...
