You should have proper under tank heating, unless your room you keep them in gets below 70. Leos need undertank heat more then anything. Some people even cool them during the winter a little for breeding the next season.

my house is only heated to about 65 degrees and due to being in montana right now it stays at 65 unless i leave my hdtv on.

I'd get an extra house heater then. You would rather that then a leo have eating issues due to stress from the light right?

try some fake plants to cover up the background. Pet Tech has some plants that stay on the glass with magnets that would look really nice and give your leo some extra hiding spots. looks good so far tho! maybe try this one: http://lllreptile.com/store/catalog...ccents/-/pet-tech-hanging-jungle-plant-large/

Very nice set-up, a desert background would look great. Make sure the guages are near the floor of the tank. What is the problem with black reptile heat lights? I've been using them for my leos for years. Mine aren't bright at all, I have to look at the bulb to tell if it's on or not.
