I rescued a neglected and abandoned Gecko

Hi everyone! My name is Lexi, I am 23, and I adopted a one year old male leopard gecko who was found abandoned in a cold pet store parking lot. I have never had reptiles but I drove 2 hours to adopt him and finally give him a warm home. I’ve had him for 4 days now and have named him Boba! I took him to a wonderful vet yesterday and found out he has been severely neglected his whole life. He has abrasions and an infection in his eye, stomatitis, and several necrotic toes from painful remaining shed. He has never known comfort, warmth, or basic husbandry. I’ve fallen in love and we both have a long road to recovery and I’m so excited to join this forum and be as informed as I can. Thank you! He is so different from just one dose of meds and protein mush. He was finally drinking water during his soak and climbed onto my hand. (Though very short lived lol). He also explored his tank for the first time!!!
