Moist hide question?

I just started using a moist hide, my gecko usually stays in his little cave, will he use his moist hide on his own or do i just make him stay in the if he starts to shed?

He'll use the moist hide on his own. You might find that he prefers to hang out in there, even when he's not shedding too.
