Well that's your choice. I was just pointing out the stubborn ignorance of your statement(s).

Some folks can't be helped, Khrysty. Apparently, if someone has one or the other political party name behind their title, that's grounds for determining whether that person's a good or bad politician.

Sorry, but that is absolute ignorance. :main_yes:

And to those who criticize socialism (I don't remember where this was brought up, here or elsewhere)...But would you prefer we did away with public schools, libraries, theaters, the police, fire departments, ambulance services, public hospitals, etc. ?

we pay for all of these services.i know i pay school taxes, i city and county taxes, as far as ambulance services, have you ever had one come and have to pick you up? they bill you (or your insurance), fire departments in some situations will bill you as well, police the same thing too.

yeah, we pay for those, but they're still socialized. while there are private ambulance services, most are still set up by the government. the fact that we pay for these is exactly my point. the government takes the money out of checks and then the money is directed toward these, the same as a socialized medicine would be. i'm not sure how the funding for the government option works though.

yes but the socialized medicine will be run by the government. they will call the shots. i think we need to revamp the whole medical thing but socializing it is not the key. the reason why i have a hard time with our government socializing our health plan is because how are they going to make it work when they can not get medicaid and medicare right and those are already "stablished" medical programs.

lol are you only on at night? but, i agree, things need to change. i don't really see socializing all healthcare as the right way either, but i think a government option is a good idea. at the least we should give it a try. though i also wouldn't be against more regulation on insurance companies and somehow driving down cost and increasing coverage that way. my problem is that governments are there to support their people, and thus it falls on them to try to reduce the number of uninsured.

i hope that made sense...i'm kinda tired...

Based on this logic it's quite possible to get Darth Vader in office. Dang.

May the force be with us. :wreck:

I kinda agree. In my opinion people that are uninsured or not willing to see a doctor because of cost is a PUBLIC HEALTH RISK TOO ALL in one way or another!

Even if we don't get socialized medicine I hope there's a change because the cost of health care is going UP and quality doesn't seem to be getting much better.

I personally have part Medicaid and covers pretty much everything since my insurance doesn't pay for much and while Medicaid it isn't glamourous but it eases my mind that especially when I get the statements from the doctors and see how much I would be paying if I didn't have it! It took awhile to find a doctor that would take my insurance and treated me as if I was top priority and didn't brush me off because my insurance probably wouldn't pay them much or kept sending me for a bunch of procedures and test so they could milk my insurance but with some searching I did and he's hot (just had to add that :) ) This semester I was thrown into a bunch of health care classes and I can't even begin to grasp the fact of how many men, women and children are missing vaccinations, live with unknown illnesses, etc because of the cost of health care and many of them are just between the lines. Some don't make enough money to qualify for government programs but just don't make enough to pay out of pocket. Other's work they're behinds off or because of their positions aren't covered, their employers don't qualify for group packages, etc. it is unbelievable!

make it mandatory for companies to offer insurance to all employees at reasonable prices.

While this is great what happened to those that are unemployed? Or when someone becomes so ill that they must leave their job and lose their insurance because of it and try to change to a new plan but they don't take pre-exisiting conditions or offer them higher premiums because of their health status? Defeats the purpose of health insurance because those have been the types of things that have been in the news the last few years.

There are so many sides to health care it's ridiculous I don't even know if any one person can grasp it.

This is a blind poll, no one can see your answers. If you are proud of your answer feel free to post here.

FYI: I will close this thread and hand out infractions if anyone attacks another member for their political views.

It is a blind poll and one knot done very well. You did not ask if one voted for him and are glad they did so the poll leads the responders to a conclusion.

This was the only thing I really like that he's done!! As long as abortion is legal I see no harm in getting something good out of it.

Abortion has nothing to do with Stem Cell research :) Stem Cells for research do not come from abortions.
